BESTFACT workshop to focus on eFreight

The EU project Best Practice Factory for Freight Transport (BESTFACT) intends to develop, disseminate and enhance the utilisation of best practices and innovations in City Logistics, Green Logistics and Co-Modality. The third international cluster workshop that takes place in Barcelona on 11 and 12 June will also focus on eFreight, in particular on secure information-based collaboration. Transport logistics experts and decision-makers will meet in Barcelona to discuss all eFreight-related aspects.

The workshop will deal with top issues such as IT technologies for mobility applied to freight transport as well as secure information exchange via supply chains and information management in a collaborative manner. In the first session, well-known representatives from the private and public sector will present current examples of best practices and results of collaboration and exchange. In the second session, it will be discussed how eFreight can support collaborative logistics to be adapted to future logistic challenges in Southern Europe. Finally, a technical visit to the Barcelona Port will offer the opportunity to see some state-of-the-art solutions for managing collaboration within a port.

As part of the BESTFACT project, the workshop is organised in cooperation with the Spanish Logistics Center CEL and the non-profit Innovation Centre for Logistics CITET. It will take place at SIL International Logistics & Material Handling Exhibition (Fira de Barcelona Montjuic Exhibition Hall Barcelona) on the first day and at the European School of Short Sea Shipping (Escola Europea de Short Sea Shipping) at the Port of Barcelona in Barcelona on the second day.
