Thinking Cities Issue 2 is available to view or download now!

With the theme “Creating the Sustainable City”, H3B Media and Polis are proud to present the second issue of their joint venture publication, Thinking Cities.

Among the highlights of this 134-page issue are a fascinating interview with Rina Cutler, Philadelphia’s deputy mayor for transportation, who talks about how she is striving to make hers the smartest city in the US; AVERE’s Bert Witkamp discusses the notion that the fuel-cell versus battery debate is self-defeatist; ZipCar UK’s Mark Walker outlines his company’s plan to reduce congestion in London; Paul Doherty’s in-depth look at how the Middle East’s smart cities boom shows no sign of abating; and architect Albert Speer and mobility planner Michael Dinter discuss the notion that our cities don’t need reinventing, they just require smart thinking to make them better.

A printed version of this issue, featuring a selection of these articles plus 10 new contributions, will be published in time for the Polis Annual Conference in Madrid, and a final issue of 2014 will be online in December featuring every article from both versions (weighing in at over 200 pages).
